Roger Blankenship
1966-2014

KANNAPOLIS - Roger Jeffrey Blankenship, 48, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, in Rock Hill, S.C., from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born in France on Feb. 21, 1966, he was a son of Patricia Aliff Blankenship of Salisbury and the late Roger Dale Blankenship. A graduate of Laurel Valley Christian School in Oceana, W.Va., Roger had honorably served our country with the U.S. Air Force.
A chemical operator for Emerald Chemical Company, Roger was of the Baptist faith. A member of Wheels of Soul Motorcycle Club, he enjoyed NASCAR, the Kannapolis Intimidators, loved his motorcycles and spending time with his grandsons.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Dawn Blankenship.
In addition to his mother, family members left with cherished memories include his daughter, Kimberly Lightfoot, Clarksburg, W.Va.; his brother, Tony Blankenship and wife Lisa of Millersburg, Pa.; sister Angela Cornelius and husband Stanley of Kannapolis; his grandsons, Lucian Lightfoot and Silas Guice; niece Rebecca Blankenship; and his nephews, Frank Marlin and Gregory Blankenship.
Arrangements: The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3 in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Pastor Anthony Wike. Burial follows at 2 p.m. in Salisbury National Cemetery, with military graveside rites.
